Based on the fact that he carried both the Dbacks and the Red Sox through grueling playoff runs to win a pair of world series titles (including a co-world series MVP shared with the great Randy Johnson) I think Schilling deserves it.

Don't think that's enough for the Hall of Fame, but I think a career FIP- of 74 is (tied for eighth best all-time among pitchers with 1000 or more IPs).

Someone the other day went off on how Tim Raines deserves to be in the HOF. Really? Anyone else think that? Explain.

Someone the other day went off on how Tim Raines deserves to be in the HOF. Really? Anyone else think that? Explain. Because he has twice as many career steals as ichiro with a higher ops, and his 807 steals rank 5th all time. Because at his prime he was stealing 70 per season with an obp of .400. He was Lou Brock or Carl Crawford but with good plate discipline, one of the best lead off hitters ever. His 70.9 career WAR ranks him ahead of Mark McGwire, Barry Larkin, Craig Biggio, Ozzie Smith, Lou Boudreau, Billy Williams, Pee Wee Reese, Billy Hamilton, Manny Ramirez, Bobby Wallace, Hank Greenberg, Roberto Alomar, Tony Gwynn, Tony Perez, Dave Winfield, and many others.
