The Amateur Draft will begin in this thread on August 8th, 2015 at 12:00pm EST.
GMs may draft any player who was taken in the MLB draft (with the exception of those selected in previous eligible drafts: Brady Aiken, Phil Bickford, Walker Buehler, Jacob Nix, Mac Marshall, Andrew Suarez, etc.). You may draft an amateur draft player who did not sign a contract in real life in the hopes that he'll be drafted again in the future.
GMs may also select players who have not yet completed a year of service time and who do not appear on any roster at that time (Note: Years of service time are not earned until the season ends so if a player has played enough to earn their first year of service time during the 2015 season, they are still eligible for this draft. In other words, any player who would be a first year player this year is eligible).
The time per pick will be 12 hours for the first round, and 6 hours for each subsequent round.
If a team misses a pick, the next team may pick immediately. The GM who missed the pick will have an additional 12 hours (first round) or 18 hours (later rounds) to make up the pick, giving him 24 hours total to pick. However, since the next team can pick as soon as the first 12 or 6 hours have passed, the player pool will likely have lost a few players by then. If after 24 hours, the GM still has not selected a player, that team will automatically be awarded the highest remaining selected player from the MLB draft who signed a contract with his team.
We have instated a 3.2 million cap exception so that teams that are up against the cap can add up to 8 prospects via the draft, provided they get back under the cap in the off-season (the cap will not increase in the off-season so this 3.2 mil exception is only through the end of the season). The roster limit will also expand to 80 players.
If you know your pick is coming up in the draft and you know you won't be around to make your pick, you are welcome to pm a list of preferred players to any commissioner so we can expedite the selection process in your absence. It's not required that you leave a list so don't feel obligated to do so if you want to make your own picks, but if you don't mind not announcing your own selections and you know who you want, it would certainly be appreciated if you could help us keep the draft moving by allowing a commissioner to announce your selections in your absence.
If a GM completely misses two of his picks in a row (and by completely miss, we mean miss the entire 24 hour period and have to be auto-picked for. If you miss the 6 hour period but you make it back in time to make your pick before the autopick, you're fine), that GM will be considered "absent" and will lose his exclusive 6 hour picking window for subsequent picks until he personally inform us that he has returned. Instead of having 6 hours to pick and 18 hours to make it up, he will have 0 hours to pick and 24 hours to make it up.
Immediately following the completion of our amateur draft will be a period during which you may roster up to six players from your corresponding Major League club. None of these six players may have completed a year of service time yet, and none may appear on another team's roster.

I will be tracking all picks in the Draft Order thread. Please check this thread frequently to see if the player you want to select has been picked already and also to keep track of when your picks are coming up.
