Hey all, as you probably saw in the New GMs section, we have two GMs stepping down right now and two teams now open: the Braves and the Reds. This wouldn't really be anything new, except that Jesse is also a commissioner. Jesse has done a phenomenal job in his time as commissioner. As those of you in the NL know, he was supremely reliable when it came to getting the Yahoo moves entered in on Yahoo every Saturday morning like clockwork. Unfortunately he simply hasn't had time for the league lately due to quitting his old job, finding a new one, and various other time commitments, and had to make the difficult choice to resign. As he said to me in a text, "It was a tough decision to make - I think I spent longer on it (deciding to quit the league) than I did in deciding to quit my job." Jesse remains a close friend of mine from college and I hope he'll stay in touch with the league periodically.
While I have the utmost faith in Smitty's ability to maintain the NL on Yahoo, I feel like the current four commissioner structure has worked quite well, particularly with having two commissioners from each league to pick up each other's slack. As such, I am pleased to announce that I have asked Tucker to take on the role of commissioner, and he has agreed to do so. Feel free to go to him with questions, concerns, ideas, etc. just as you would any of the other commissioners. I know Tucker will do a phenomenal job in this role, and I look forward to the new perspective that I believe he will bring to the table.
Finally, since we have two new vacancies right in the middle of free agency, my hope is to fill these spots as quickly as possible so that the new GMs have time to sign some players and fill out their rosters. If you know anybody who might be interested, please have them email me an application at BigBen10471@yahoo.com (or PM me here) answering the usual three questions. If you're part of another fantasy league or any other sort of online forum that might have interested potential GMs, by all means please consider advertising the league there and inviting them to apply. Even if we can't give them a position now, we can always put them on the wait list in order to be informed of any future openings.
Thanks again Tucker for stepping up, thanks Jesse for the awesome work you've done for the league over the past three years, and thanks to everyone for doing your part in making this league awesome!
