Just some things that have been discussed that will most likely be put into place this season or next offseason. While these are not official rule changes yet, I want to make sure everyone is on the same page knowing that they are likely possibilities. If you have concerns about any changes, you are welcome to message me or any of the other commissioners, but we reserve the final say on whether the rules will be implemented.
1) Scalp Round: an additional compensation round after the first comp round for which teams gain picks any time they defeat a team who had a better record by two games or more games. Draft order determined by the magnitude of the scalp at the time (a scalp of a team with a better record by 5 games would result in an earlier pick than a scalp of a team with a better record by 2 games). This would be implemented during the 2015 season for the 2016 draft.
2) The minimum salary bid required for a team to gain a comp pick for a departing free agent will be increased, most likely to $12 million next year and possibly $15 million the year after that. This should help keep the comp round under control for the 2016 draft, which is good since that's when scalp round would be going into effect.
3) At this time, please assume that the salary cap will remain at $120 million for 2016 rather than increase. The amount of available cash in the game this offseason and the high contracts given out show that further cap increases are not required at this time.
4) We will also likely be expanding maximum roster size to 80 in August for our draft.
