A couple quick things before we kick it off tomorrow:
Today is the last day for non-tenders! If you want to remove anyone on a 2nd year through 6th year contract from your roster, today is the last chance to do so without having to pay their full 2016 salary. Midnight PDT is the absolute deadline.
Today is also the last day to open free agents in primary free agency. Starting tomorrow, any free agents should be opened in secondary free agency. No discounts will be given in secondary free agency, and only one year contracts are allowed.
Please double check Yahoo rosters. Make sure nobody is there who shouldn't be. I removed a fairly major hitter from someone's roster who had been traded away recently but never removed, and while I don't think there are any others it would be helpful if you could check your team, especially if you've made recent moves.
I set lineups for a couple teams who had not set theirs yet. I PMed these GMs to let them know. Please make sure your lineup is to your liking before the first pitch tomorrow or you will be not be able to change it until next week!
Remember that all moves that you want done on Yahoo need to be posted in the Yahoo Moves thread. ANY TIME a player should be added to or removed from your roster for any reason, including trades, you are responsible for posting there. For those of you who posted your rosters after we already figured one out for you, we will not be editing your roster to match your newly posted one unless you post the appropriate moves in the Yahoo Moves thread, so if your roster on Yahoo isn't what you wanted or expected because you posted it late, post the Yahoo moves or it's on you!
Yahoo moves can posted at any time. We make the moves over the weekend and will typically announce in Chatango when the moves for your league have been done for that week. To ensure that your moves make it in on time, we encourage you to post by the end of the day on Friday. Legal moves posted correctly before the end of the day on Friday are guaranteed to get made for the following week. We will do our best to address any weekend and last minute moves if we are available, and we nearly always do, but we can make no guarantees.
For the sake of transparency, I want to let people know that Jamie has kindly agreed to share his Yahoo password with me, and Smitty has given Jamie's account commissioner access in the NL on Yahoo for me to use. In past years I have always had an entry into the NL through various channels - when Jesse was the Reds GM and an NL commissioner he let me use his password, and when we didn't have a Pirates GM for most of the year last year I ran that team and had commissioner access. It has proved very useful as it allows me to make Yahoo moves, including last minute moves, for NL owners as well as AL, something I've had to do on many occasions. However, with Jamie being my brother I understand that there could be some concern about me running or helping to run Jamie's team. You have my complete assurances that I will not make any strategic decisions or moves for Jamie and that he will be in sole control of his own team. He will also never use the commissioner tools for any purpose, and is not himself a commissioner in any way. The Nationals roster is entirely his domain, and the commissioner tools are entirely mine. If you have any concerns about this arrangement I welcome you to share them with me through PM, or with Brian if you'd feel more comfortable. I do believe that the benefits far outweigh any potential negatives, and I assure you that I will not use his account in any way that could become an issue for the league in terms of fairness, ethics, or the league's best interests.
So, if you need moves made, please contact any of the following commissioners:
NL: Smitty, Tucker, Jon, Me
AL: Me, Brian, Max
Let's make it a great season! Year six has begun!
