As we near the end of our first regular season, I'm open to suggestions for changes in the rules - nothing too drastic, of course, but minor tweaks to make the game run smoother and more enjoyably.
I'll take everything into consideration, but I won't be acting on everything, or even responding to everything, necessarily. So if someone makes a suggestion you like that you think deserves further discussion and consideration, "second" it so that we know there's some interest.

One thing that I think needs to be considered is an increase in the hometown discount. Since we don't have a system in place for contract extensions (I've thought about trying to make one, but it'd be really complicated), the hometown discount kind of serves that purpose instead. I think the hometown discount should be bumped up to at least 10%. Probably not until next offseason though, since a change like this would likely have affected some of the moves made this year at the trade deadline.

I could see implementing extensions sometime a few years in the future, but I think for now it's better to keep it simple.

I agree on the 10%... make it more worth while... of course that could make a huge dent in a 4 year contract. Check out my franchise thoughts. One 7th year franchised per season... only available one time. Might have to go into effect next season but I'd love for it to happen this season if you guys agreed.
