Absent Drafters

If you completely miss two of your picks in a row (and by completely miss, we mean miss the entire 24 hour period and have to be auto-picked for. If you miss the 6 hour period but you make it back in time to make your pick before the autopick, you're fine), you will be considered "absent" and you will lose your exclusive 6 hour picking window for subsequent picks until you personally inform us that you have returned. Instead of having 6 hours to pick and 18 hours to make it up, you will have 0 hours to pick and 24 hours to make it up.
So if you miss two picks, we will send you a PM informing you that you are now considered absent from the draft and to send us a PM as soon as you've returned. In the meantime, if another of your picks arrives we'll simply skip to the next person and you'll have 24 hours to make up the pick we skipped.
If you have specifically asked us to auto-pick for you, then this does not apply. It only counts as a missed pick in this context if we were forced to wait 24 hours for you and you still did nothing.
I will keep track of people who are considered absent or who are in danger of being considered absent below.

What if you don't want to make your pick?
If you are unable or uninterested in making your picks for whatever reason, you have three options:
1. Most often, teams simply ask to be placed on autopick. We will automatically assign you the highest drafted (real life draft position) remaining signed player available when your pick comes on the clock. This will ensure that you still end up with a strong draft class, though obviously you will not have made the picks yourself. You can ask to be taken off autopick at any time.
2. Maybe you still want to make your picks, but you know you will be slow doing so and don't want to hold the draft up. You can ask to skip you for now, or even to be marked absent, which means we will skip your pick and the draft will move on, but you will still have 24 hours to make up your pick before we autopick for you. The benefit of this option is it still gives you a chance to make your pick without holding up the draft. The downside is that if your 24 hours do expire you will likely end up with a less desirable autopick than if you had autopicked from the start. You can always be taken off absent at any time.
3. Send us a list of your preferred players ahead of time! If your turn is three picks away but you don't think you'll be around, send us your top four choices for that spot (in order of preference) and we'll take the highest remaining option once your pick rolls around. You can always combine options, saying something like "please take player A or B for me if they're available, or if not just autopick." OR you can ask us to autopick specific positions: "for my next three picks, please autopick the highest remaining pitcher or high school shortstop." Just make sure your instructions are clear - if they're not, it's on you.
Of course you can also try to trade your picks (either trade them as picks before the trade deadline, or agree to a "draft and trade" with other teams). But please don't wait until you're on the clock to start negotiating trades. Be respectful of other people's time!
