I think we need a new way of making sure our rosters are in on time. Relying on one person to make sure is not good. I understand that people are busy. But this is obviously not working. I know at least 2 teams that dont have a full lineup cause of this. Anyone else have any thoughts?

My thought would be too allow us to add and drop after the trade has processed through our league site. Then if that person cannot check until late on Sunday, he can be sure that all was added correctly. If not he does have the power to drop and change our rosters. If someone abuses this, the. They can be punished in someway.

Yes, it is not fair for teams to have only a few hours to move players around on their rosters and we will make a greater effort to have it done sooner - whether earlier on Sunday or on Saturday - in the future. Unfortunately this weekend it didn't work out that way as I found myself with a lot more work to do than I realized Sunday night, and unfortunately it happened on a week where I was in charge of both the AL and NL moves this week, as Jesse was out of town - I didn't expect it to be a problem, but it turned out to be. I apologize for how it turned out, and take full responsibility.
At this time, we will continue to consider ways to improve the system, but I am not willing to open it up to having people make their own adds/drops just yet. We will make an effort to have the moves done sooner.

I agree with Jon, losing roster spots because of it could cost a week, which could cost a playoff spot.
I agree with keeping the roster spots on a GM level, but allowing moves until Monday, instead of Sunday night may solve the issue. Allows a few hours leeway.

I agree, something needs to change. I could have had a free agent SS added to my roster (his signing went official on Sunday I believe) but because he wasn't added to my roster, I have to eat that position for the week.

In leagues with weekly formats, Yahoo locks rosters at 4 am on Monday and there's no option to change it. We could do away with the weekly roster changes, but that would be a major change to the league format. I agree, something needs to change. Izturis wasn't added to your roster because you didn't have an empty spot. You need to send somebody to reserves.

One possible solution: allow daily roster moves, but decrease the active roster size to 20 instead of 25, removing all bench spots.

Then you would have no issues having a full lineup and all the league commissioners would have to do is police adding instead of actually doing it.

(changing roster sizes) ...and all the league commissioners would have to do is police adding instead of actually doing it.

Unfortunately no, it can't be done midseason. Solution for next season though. Commissioners would still make the moves every weekend, but if they were to come in late on a Sunday you could just move your players around Monday morning, or if you miss Monday then Tuesday.

my suggestion is allow daily roster moves, keep the bench spots but increase the minimum IP to 25..it should make the league more competitive

my suggestion is allow daily roster moves, keep the bench spots but increase the minimum IP to 25..it should make the league more competitive The problem with this is it rewards teams for having extra SPs, which is problematic because in a 30 team league with 5 SPs per team, there aren't any SPs to spare. I just did the AL roster moves for the week. About to do the NL. So we shouldn't have any problems this week.

I like weekly moves, daily favors people tha can check every day, me included. I'm just lucky to have down time at work. We just need a we to ensure we have adequate time to set our lineup for the following week.
