Post-draft additions will begin as soon as I have had a chance to update the official rosters with the remaining draft picks. From when I unlock this thread until the end of the league's world series (which is the official start of off-season activities), teams will have the opportunity to roster up to 6 prospects from their own system who do not appear on any team's official roster.
Post-draft addition players must meet the following criteria:
-The player has not earned a full year of service time prior to the 2011 season (i.e. player must have been draft eligible this year)
-The player is under contract with your respective mlb team (i.e. you can't take players from other team's systems and you can't take a player who didn't sign a contract with your team).
Teams may only add players if they are under the roster limit and cap exception. No team may exceed 70 players on their roster or $102.4 million in salary. If you are at or above either of these limitations, please utilize minor league cuts and buyouts to rectify the situation BEFORE THE OFF-SEASON.
The format for post-draft additions should be as follows:
Team A adds
1. George Washington, 3B
2. John Adams, RHP
3. Thomas Jefferson, 1B
4. Abraham Lincoln, SS
5. Theodore Roosevelt, LHP
6. John F. Kennedy, C
Please include positions, it really is a pain for me to look them up.
Also, please make only 1 post per team. Once you post your additions, they are final so please do not edit them (it gets too chaotic to follow when people post a list and then post changes so only post when you're sure of who you want). If you discover a player you or someone else has added is actually on another team's roster already, please send me a pm notifying me and I will rectify the situation with that GM.

I didn't know about this before the Rule V draft. I was so worried about getting my roster straight I wasn't told about it and must have looked over it. So much on your plate when you start. Lost some quality players I would have added otherwise. It's OK though.

Isn't it too late to add post draft additions ?? Yes, it is. Technically the deadline was one week after the end of the season. We extended it a bit and allowed the Phillies additions of December 8, but we're not going to allow any of the ones that happened after the Rule V Draft when rosters were officially set for 2012. The only exception will be for new GMs. I PMed all new GMs who joined after the completion of the season letting them know about the option to make post-draft additions. They may still do so, but I'm going to set a deadline of Sunday, January 8 as the last day to do so, after which they will forfeit the right to do post-draft additions. So, if you're the Diamondbacks, Dodgers, Marlins, Nationals, Brewers, Pirates, or Rangers, please post your additions by the end of the day on the 8th or you will not be able to add them. Everybody else, wait until next year. |
