Had these two teams been facing off last week, the Reds would have won 7-5. The Reds are coming off an uninspiring offensive output, and should their hitting continue to struggle they must hope that their base stealers continue to swipe bags, as that is the only offensive category in which they topped the Rockies (and would have topped the Giants). The Giants' pitching had an acceptable week, but would have been completely eclipsed by the Reds' staff in every pitching category last week. Giants probable 2-start pitchers: Aaron Harang Reds probable 2-start pitchers: Travis Wood, Homer Bailey
ALCS: Rays (1) vs Blue Jays (2) Had these two teams met last week, the Rays would have won 6-5 on the strength of their offense. The Blue Jays would have won the pitching categories with the exception of ERA (Rays win) and QS (tie), and would have won SBs. On the season, the Rays have typically enjoyed the better pitching while the Jays have outperformed the Rays in offense. Rays probable 2-start pitchers: Jordan Zimmermann, Tim Lincecum Blue Jays probable 2-start pitchers: R.A. Dickey
