As per a new rule change, you may now non-tender players anytime during the offseason. Post the name of the player you wish to non-tender in this thread. That player will be removed from your roster and will immediately become a free agent, and you will no longer have to pay that player's salary. You can only non-tender cost-controlled players, years 2 through 6 (as always, year 1 players and minor league players can be cut at no penalty at any time by posting in the "minor league cuts" thread). You can not non-tender players on veteran contracts.
You can non-tender players who have rolling 50% options through their 6th years (international free agents, for example) ONLY up until the roster posting deadline. Once your roster has been posted and that deadline has passed, you can no longer choose to decline that option this year. Once that option is picked up it is guaranteed for the season.
As before, if you want to cut a cost-controlled player during the regular season, post him in the buy outs thread, as you will have to continue paying him for the remainder of that year. This thread will close prior to the start of the regular season.
