After two years in charge, Royce has decided to step down as GM of the Kansas City Royals. Royce inherited a team that had had a couple of strong years but was in need of a rebuild, and he made some gutsy moves to try to stay competitive in a tough AL Central. He turned a slow start in 2014 into a respectable finish, and started strong in 2015 before injuries derailed his system and forced him to become a seller at the deadline. While both efforts ultimately came up short, there was a stretch straddling the two seasons in which the team put up a very solid 13-5-1 record. We thank Royce for his time in charge of that team and are excited to see what the future holds for the franchise under new leadership.
If you know anyone who would be interested in taking over this team, have them message me and Brian with an application answering the following three questions: 1) what do you see as the team's strengths and weaknesses, 2) how would you go about addressing those needs short and long term (generally speaking - no specific targets, please) 3) what are your own strengths (and weaknesses) as a GM
I'll put up a 2016 roster for the team tomorrow morning, so feel free to consult that while writing your application.

Thanks everyone! My name is Jesse, I'm from Port Charlotte, FL originally. Went to college at Appalachian State in Boone, NC, and after a few months between NC and Minnesota, I'll be heading back to Port Charlotte soon. Was born a Braves fan because of my dad, and quickly fell in love with the Rays. Hard to say which is my favorite, but id say most days the Braves are 1A.
I'm looking forward to working and trading with all of you en route to a championship. Jesse 2016, MAKE THE ROYALS GREAT AGAIN™
