Hey guys.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR OFFICIAL ROSTER.
I'm sorry to use all-caps and sound like a mom or a troll or a typist but for real.....
take a look at your players and your math and make sure everything is kosher.
We're going to see another fury of FA signings while guys earn jobs in real-life Spring Training. This means more work and this lull is when we like to make sure nothing much is too screwy.
Now, as we head into Spring Training, remember players who are 24+ years old and have not completed a year of service (and are not on any current Pro-GM roster) are eligible to initiate as Primary Free Agents (see Free Agency Rule 6.2) (similar to such players eligible for the previous Rule V Draft). Not included on the Unofficial Free Agency List are so many guys that are eligible and even on their real life 40-man roster. I'm telling ya snowbunnies, there are so many decent players out there to roster.
Also remember, any Free Agent you sign to a 0.4 million valued contract is considered a Minor League Contract. This means is that player doesn't pan out, you can ditch him with ZERO liability. He would be a 'Minor League Cut'. However, the only way to secure a '0.4 million' contract is to initiate the Free Agent yourself. So take a look. Find a guy. But make sure you open the bid at 0.4 million. If you open any higher, you will eliminate the chance to move him about your minor leagues or simply cut him later. Again sorry for the histrionics but this seems to always be an underused strategy during Primary Free Agency.
aw fuck...Here I am encouraging you guys to sign any number of the available Relief Pitchers or middle infield help (many of whom project to put up numbers that improve our league averages ...ie help you win...even if they're 'no-names')....
but knowing it only means more behind the scene work for us is why I implore you
take a look at your current roster.
now is the time.
Sorry for the rant.
I usually do this when it snows.
In the long run, fellas, this is such a rad league. I want everyone to stick around and try and compete.
It's not always perfect, but I'd be goddamned if it's not 99.3% spot fucking on.
Please look at your Official Roster and drive safe.
