Mobile Use

Hey guys.

(please make sure you've double checked your Official Roster and the math, but that's not what this post is about)


I too have been having trouble with ProBoards on my phone.
Specifically my iPhone > Safari
Upon my mobile device's default web browser (Safari), the ProBoards home will briefly load and almost instantly send me to an advert.
It will ask me (something like) Continue or Cancel
No matter what I choose, it always sends me away from ProBoards and to the AppStore to try and download so useless bullshit I've never heard of or needed.
It doesn't matter if I try to circumnavigate one page to the other- I'm now always getting sent straight to some bullshit app download link. Even clicking back on the phone's browser only makes the advert load once again; entirely preventing me from engaging the board altogether.

whomever said it before, I agree (Posey28)- it makes the site unusable on my iPhone 6+ over Safari.

Zac, Marlins GM (under the handle NatsGm on chat.....anyway to change that, Zac? ... no biggie, but anyway....) he said something about a different app or platform?
The ProBoards iPhone App itself seems to by fritzy as well, and perhaps even no longer operates (?).

Anyone else but Posey28 and I having this issue?
What am I missing?

I am in no way suggesting we move our foundation or that ProBoards is terribly unsatisfying- but if it's not just me having troubles, let's all help us figure out how we can solve this mobile use issue.

At the very least, share your mobile experience if you have a minute or two.

I use the Tapatalk app, which is free in the iPhone app store. It works great for viewing threads, but I've never tried the chat feature (and don't know if it actually has one...)

I haven't had trouble on my iPhone 5 with the mobile site. I do switch to the desktop view often since I prefer it though.

I also always switch to the Desktop view on my iPhone rather than the Dashboard view. I wonder if that has something to do with it. I've noticed similar problems on other websites (constant popups that open the app store), especially Fangraphs, but never this one.

The app I use is called Tapatalk.

You download and then search tapatalk and type in pro-gm.proboards.com and then you are "following it" and you can set up notifications and stuff

I will look into changing my chatango.

I use desktop view on mobile and it doesnt give me any problems, and I use the chatango app, which works quite well.

so my Advert issue has disappeared from every facet of my Mobile experience on ProBoards.

I honestly don't use it except late Thurs-Sun so i never tried to fix anything after posting this, but noticed that others had noticed the same thing. anyhow...

It just kinda seemed to fix itself?
Seems that it could have been a behind the scenes issue that ProBoards fixed themselves?
we'll see, but at least it's not widespread panic.

however...

can someone spell out what this Tapatalk or Tapatio or TapDanceRevolution is about and how it relates to using Chatango on a mobile device.

Tapatalk is really just for viewing posts and checking messages on proboards! I think there's a separate chatango app - you can't use both at once, but you can toggle pretty easily between the two I imagine (I use Tapatalk, but not Chatango).

got it to work as much as it seems capable.
i suppose not having chatango while i'm at work (bartender) is better, but was just trying to maximize.
thanks all for your help and indulgence.

all said and done, proboards mobile desktop version (without the dysfunctional pop-up from last week) still rules.
