The bidding on Pineiro has been restarted because Marlins' bid of $8.5 million in the previous bidding would have put him over his cap. Marlins has taken a fine of $4.25 million (half of Pineiro's would-be salary) and Pineiro is a free agent again.
Bidding starts at 0 again in this thread.
Angels earned a compensation pick during the first bidding, and he will keep that compensation pick even if he does not qualify for one in the second bidding (unless he signs Pineiro himself).
