Post all trades here. Title your trades with the names of the teams involved separated by a hyphen (for example, Rays - White Sox). Post the trade in the following way:
Team 1 receives:
Player A x million (nth year)
Player B x million (20xx-20yy)
Team 2 receives:
Player C x million (nth year)
Player D x million (minors)
20zz second round pick (team whose pick it is)
with each player followed by his salary for the current or upcoming season and his contract type - (nth year) for cost-controlled players, (minors) for prospects, (20xx-20yy) for veteran players.
Remember, you may not trade money, but you may offer to cover part or all of a veteran player's salary for the receiving team. Say Player A in the trade above was originally on a 3 year (2011-2013), $10 million per year contract. And let's say Team 2 was willing to cover $5 million each year of that contract. In the trade, you'd still post the player with the original contract ["10 million (2011-2013)"], and then at the bottom you'd write "Team 2 to cover $5 million per year of Player A's contract." But, once the trade is processed, Team 1 would put Player A on his roster with the newly lowered $5 million contract, and Team 2 would add "Covering $5 million from 2011-2013 of Player A's contract" to the Other Cash Commitments section of his roster.
Once a trade is posted by one team, it must be confirmed by the other team. After the second team confirms, 24 hours must pass before the trade becomes official. During that time, the trade will be under review and may be vetoed by the league. Six vetoes cancels the trade (recently changed from eight), and one veto extends the review period from 24 hours to 48 hours. Please refrain from vetoing or voicing any discontent with a trade (including through PM) until after the second team confirms. When you veto a trade, please provide a brief reason for doing so. It can be as simple as "I think Team 1 gave up way too much for Player A," but more information would be appreciated, such as "no way is a year of Player B worth six years of Player C," or "this trade seriously endangers Team 1's chances of competing both now and in the future." And, in situations where you think collusion might be involved, please send a PM to the commissioner.
Once the trade goes through, the commissioner will post it in the trades log and update the official rosters accordingly. Both teams should also update the unofficial rosters and transaction logs in their clubhouses. If the trade is an in-season trade, the commissioner will update the rosters on the fantasy site as quickly as possible, though in some cases it may take a few days.
Draft picks may be traded for the next draft only.
