Hello all, Peter Gammons here. The following rankings will be released each Friday. Will incorporate a top 10 as well as a few teams closing in. Teams will be ranked on a combination of record, division record, and quality wins. Quality wins will be judged based off of a win against any team with a wining record. I will list each teams record as well as their quality wins and impact hitter and pitcher. I hope you all enjoy! Player rankings as off Tuesday the 19th. On to week 1.
1. Washington Nationals- Max, 9-2 record. Quality wins against the Cubs and Phillies. Impact players are Francisco Lindor(10) and Carlos Carrasco(75). Gets the nod based off of a head to head win. Being new hasn’t affected Max in his quest for the top spot. Making shrewd deals using his farm system has helped him land some impact pieces. We shall see if he has enough to hold the top spot.
2. Chicago Cubs- Chris, 9-1-1 record. Quality wins against the Dodgers, Rockies, and Astros. Impact players are JD Martinez(16) and Mike Foltynewicz(44). Best record in Pro GM is impressive for the returning champs. Has been a rough go lately, but with an experienced GM I wouldn’t doubt his ability to withstand and hold on.
3. Tampa Bay Rays- Ben, 9-2 record. Quality wins against Twins, Mariners, and Indians. Impact players are Mike Trout(1) and Sean Manaea(46). The top team in the AL boasts the best player here and in real life. Another stellar offseason has kept the perpetual giants at the top. Getting Manaea has been a pleasant surprise. The east will challenge but the Rays have all the tools to return to the World Series.
4. Arizona Diamondbacks- Oren, 8-3 record. Quality wins against the Nationals, Dodgers, and Rockies. Impact players are George Springer(30) and Luis Severino(7). Oren gets the nod because of the impressive list of wins. Even though he has lost a few he shouldn’t have. Constantly trying to improve his team, he acquired his two top performers in the offseason. I fully expect the wheeling and dealing to continue and his climb to as well.
5. Baltimore Orioles- Nick, 8-2-1 record. Quality wins against Rays, Angels, and Indians. Impact players are Jose Altuve(22) and Aaron Nola(17). A very balanced team playing in perpetually the toughest division in Pro GM history, Nick has gotten the Orioles out to an impressive start. Big win against the Rays show he can make some noise in the postseason.
6. Minnesota Twins- Ben, 7-2-2 record. Quality wins against Orioles, Mariners, and Indians. Impact players are Freddie Freeman(9) and Edwin Diaz(39). A good mix of youth and veterans has helped Ben lead the division. While the offense looks impressive, he may need some help with pitching to make a run with the top guys. The pieces are there for a bright future.
7. Los Angeles Dodgers- Dave, 8-2-1 record. Quality wins against the Nationals. Impact players are Travis Shaw(73) and Chris Sale(12). Only has one quality win but it’s an impressive one. Stellar pitching staff has been leading the team. Has a deep roster but will need some help with other teams around him making moves. An impressive start with a roster that needed help.
8. Los Angeles Angels- Nic, 7-2-2 record. Quality wins against Twins and Mariners. Impact players are Mookie Betts(8) and Tanner Rourk(79). Inheriting the most impressive collection of prospects this League has ever known has enabled Nic to assemble an equally impressive team and a top 10 spot. Will go as far as his offense will lead him. But has weapons to acquire pitching if so desires. Young team should be contending for years.
9. Toronto Blue Jays- Brian, 7-3-1 record. Quality wins against Rays and Orioles. Impact players are Trea Turner(37) and Corey Kluber(4). Well, about as deep and balanced of a team as you will find. Having a bit of an off year but still contending and it wouldn’t surprise me to see them back in the playoffs. Have shown big wins against two top 5 teams. Depending on if he is a buyer or seller will determine how far the Jays go.
10. Colorado Rockies- Rob, 8-2-1 record. Quality wins against Astros and Phillies. Impact players are Justin Upton(56) and Justin Verlander(2). Young team led by the two best SP so far this year. Beating the teams he should but what will happen when he plays the big dogs. Tough division but within reach.

12. Phillies- Scott, 7-3-1
13. Astros- Jon, 7-3-1
