Since we have had some issues over the years with teams trading a pick multiple times we are going to institute a penalty system for offenders. I have been guilty of this in the past, so no one is exempt. I think that will help keep all of us more accountable and hopefully a little better at record keeping. The penalties will be in addition to making sure the team you traded the already dealt pick is compensated since they will not be receiving the pick they traded for. I feel like most teams do a good job at tracking their own picks, but it really makes things difficult when setting up the draft, having to deal with picks being dealt multiple times. The penalties will be as followed:
1st Offense- 8th Round pick or highest remaining selection. If no picks left, then following year.
2nd Offense- 4th Round pick or highest remaining selection. If no picks left, then following year.
3rd Offense- 1st Round pick or if no 1st then following years 1st.
Again, this is meant to make us all better at record keeping and also making things much easier for the commissioners who have to tally trades and move picks to the right teams. I highly doubt that any team would ever get to the 3rd offense, but there needs to be accountability moving forward. Any questions feel free to message any commissioner for comments and answers. I appreciate everyones help with this. Thanks.
