Good morning everyone. A few things about what to expect in the coming months. As some of you have noticed, I created a draft results and picks page. My first time doing this so please check it out and make sure you have all of your picks, or if you have one you shouldn't please let me know. As most of you should know, we are doing a 4 round draft this year. ALL picks from rounds 5-8 will carry over to the 2021 draft, including all trades. But please double check my work to make sure you have the correct picks. Including Comp picks. I tried to verify teams had the players all season, but Brian already found 1 of his own. I appreciate the help with this learning experience. I also posted a thread which shows everyone's total picks for this draft.
Our upcoming schedule will be mostly spread out, since our offseason will be much different than any other we've had. Around October 1st we will post a thread where teams will post which veteran contract they will be reducing by 1 year. Keep in mind, ALL expiring contracts, 1 year deals, 6th year cost controlled players will NOT expire. They will be carried over. What were doing is giving each team to reduce 1 veteran contract that expired in 2021 or later to keep them on the intended contract. This will help us keep track with who was reduced and who wasn't.
Next up will be our Amateur Draft. Tentatively this will start around November 1st. Previous rules will apply with time limits. The draft order will be finalized prior to this with any fixes and trade that are made prior to the start. Again, please review your picks and let me know if you see anything incorrect. Also, a complete list of ineligible players that were previously drafted will be posted in the results thread.
Last up for now is Rule V. We do not have a set date for this. Most likely wont happen until sometime in early 2021. Unlike in years past, minor leaguers that have accrued a year of service time will NOT be eligible to be drafted. Since we are not counting any service time for this season, teams can keep players in the minors for this offseason. The draft will be centered around any unowned, 25+ year old players.
As always, if you have any questions please contact any of the commissioners and we would be glad to help.
