how is innings pitched even a category? how bout whip or wins. when ur pitchers r pineda and king felix of course u b against wins as a category. instead of BB and avg have obp and add runs scored or something. knw im the new guy but just sayn.

runs scored and RBI's are determined more by a players teammates than the player himself. pitcher's wins say almost nothing about how good of a pitcher he is.

Maybe we should do sabermetrics if we lookn for strictly individual categories. I also am not a big fans of how big wins r taken into pitchers individual success but it's better than innings pitched. That makes a guy like livan Hernandez a bit too valuable for how bad he is

The same Livan Hernandez who's on pace to be worth at least 3 WAR for the second year in a row? Innings pitched are a great indicator of how much value a pitcher has. A guy like Livan Hernandez should have some value, that's why he's still playing at 36 despite not being able to strike anyone out. If a ML team pitches a guy like Livan Hernandez, they're using him to eat innings at a reasonable but not great ERA. If you sign him in a game like this, he'll get you plenty of innings but he may cost you ERA or K/BB.
I'm willing to re-evaluate the statistics for next year but I too would be strongly against runs, RsBI, wins, and WHIP as categories. The categories were chosen to be realistic indicators of player value, and I think they do that rather well, but if the league disagrees of course I'm willing to listen.

Really not that worried bout it. Was just different not seein some of the basic stat cats in the matchup. I am on board with whatever. But combing BB and avg into obp and adding RBI would b cool. Get what u saying bout RBI not being all about the individual but seems like should b a part of fantasy baseball. Batters batting in front of pitchers that r taking intentional walks to get to the pitcher are not really drawing the walk by themselves. No big deal.

Before this league, whenever I saw setting that werent the standard 5-5 (R-AVG-HR-RBI-SB) (W-S-ERA-WHIP, I dont remember the 5th one) I was always turned off, but this league really made me appreciate the stats we use and more fully understand how valuable a player is. I like these settings and think they should be kept.

Agreed, the cats we're using now MUST be the same ones going forward since that the criteria folks should be using in evaluating players when it comes time to make a move... I've been in other Yahoo commish driven leagues where suddenly the rules change mid stream and that's when I've left those leagues i.e. because the integrity becomes very suspect and ultimately it starts feeling like time wasted.
