Giolito assigned to real life minor leagues currently, can't help my current rotation. Given high value of cost controlled pitching, esp starting pitching, in this league, any opportunity to get another year of control of a young player is IMHO a good strategic move. Given complete catastrophic injury wave to my pitching corps, I could always lift the redshirt during the season. Thanks.

Given positional eligibility, have multiple player coverage across every position without Lindor. I previously had Lindor in the DH role, shifting him out, would allow Jonathan Schoop to play 2nd base, instead of being a bench reserve. Lindor IMHO would be variably replaced by a quality bat at said DH slot and redshirt could always be later lifted if facing catastrophic injury to the SS position. While it's not something that would be likely weighed into the decision, the previous owner, Mark, who did a bang up job assembling his roster, also tried to redshirt Lindor the year before ( just a few posts above) but missed the deadline.
I intentionally pursued free agency to build moderate cost depth to guard against attrition/injury to maintain the flexibility to potentially red shirt young players, to maximize the value of their cost controlled years.

Chris, can you actually give me a bit more information regarding the Soler redshirt? With Gonzalez, Hanley, and Ackley filling out other positions in your lineup right now I don't feel they can fairly serve as OF cover. What might a typical lineup look like for you if redshirt Soler? Please show the full nine player lineup so I can see that removing Soler doesn't affect your cover at any position. You can post it here or PM me. Thanks!
