I'd to use my "new owner" redshirt on Gregory Polanco. Here's my reasoning:
1) polanco will likely be called up in June and will likely surpass the 130 AB threshold. 2) OF is my one position of depth in terms of starters that are in the majors (Hamilton, Bautista, Stubbs, Parmalee, Gose, etc) 3) i'm unlikely to contend anyway, meaning that my RS of Polanco won't upset any competitive balance.

2B Jorge Polanco 0.4 million (minors) 2B Eddie Rosario 0.4 million (minors)
I'm pretty deep at 2B (Mookie Betts, Micah Johnson, Jace Peterson), so I don't think I'd even have room for them on my 25-man roster should they be called up from the minors.
P Carson Smith 0.4 million (minors)
I already have 14 pitchers on my major league roster, and several RPs in the minors (Oliver Drake, Armando Rivero, Yimi Garcia) who likely will be called up at some point.

1) SP Jarrod Parker (3rd year) - He's going to miss half the year and I don't want him to burn a year if he's not pitching for half of it. I have plenty of SP depth to fall back on: Felix, Strasburg, deGrom, Archer, Lackey, Pomeranz, Phelps, Gonzalez, Nelson, Iglesias in the majors now. Lorenzen, Meyer, Colome, and Jackson likely to be called up at some point. Minor and Medlen likely to come off the DL.
2) 2B/SS Javier Baez (2nd year) - He won't play the full season in the majors and I don't want him to lose another year of control on a partial season. My middle infield depth includes Utley, Rollins, Flores, Odubel Herrera, and the likely call up of Matt Reynolds. Alex Guerrero may earn 2B eligibility as well.
3) OF Randal Grichuk (1st year) - He's being use as a pinch-hitter extraordinaire, I don't want him to burn a year for that. My OF depth in the majors includes Gordon, Melky, Gardner, Myers, Kiermaier, Alex Guerrero, Odubel Herrera, and Jake Smolinski.
4) OF/1B Kyle Parker (1st year) - Was a late call-up last year, I expect the same this year. OF depth is same as above, 1B depth includes Goldschmidt, Lucroy, McCann, and likely call-up Adam Duvall
5) SS Aledmys Diaz (1st year) - May get called up to be a utility IF, don't want to burn a year on that. SS depth same as above.

1) Dalton Pompey (minors) - He'll go through rookie ups and downs, and im not convinced he'll have a stellar season. that being said, Ive got Carlos Gomez, Nick Swisher, Delmon Young, and Michael Saunders as OF depth.
2) - Matt Moore (3rd Year). He's out for about half the year, don't feel that wasting a year of service on him for half a year of pitching while coming back from tommy john is worthwhile, especially because he struggles with command sometimes and that can be an issue to get back on point. Ive got Fister, Mccarthy, Lohse morrow, bolsinger and arroyo wheeler and stroman at sp.. though i do realize arroyo wheeler and stroman are recovering from big surgeries.
3) - Pierce Johnson (minors). Just in case he's a late season call up, dont wanna risk him gaining a year of service. SP depth same as above
4) - Julio Urias (minors). Same as johnson, except way more important, havea feeling he could get a BP call up for the dodgers at some point.

C James McCann 0.4 million (minors) Starting the season as the Tigers backup catcher but I have Russell Martin and Nick Hundley on my roster so I don't want to waste a year of control
OF Steven Moya 0.4 million (minors) the parent team wants to season him in Triple A this year but he could get called up...I have 6 OFs already so I have enough depth there
RP Jim Henderson 0.6 million (3rd year) recovering from injury...I have 9 other RPs on my roster
RP Matt Stites 0.5 million (2nd year) also recovering from injury...have enough RP depth
SP Jonathan Pettibone 0.5 million (2nd year) recovering from injury and have eight SPs on active roster already

Tony Cingrani - he's a reliever right now. My hope is that he'll one day become a starter again and make keeping him worthwhile. I have a full rotation (Sale, Greinke, Harvey, Peralta, Fiers, Anderson) and bullpen (Britton, Cishek, Davis, Shoemaker, Smith) with a ton of lower tier depth in case of injury. He won't be missed as an RP, but if he does earn a spot in the rotation I'll consider lifting the redshirt.

2 additional redshirt requests:
Jake Thompson & Justin Nicolino - I have a full slate of SPs on my active roster plus Ivan Nova ready to come off the DL in June to add to my depth. If either Thompson or Nicolino are called up and my rotation is hit by injuries, I may need to lift the redshirt tag.

Nick Ahmed - I have plenty of IF depth in Panik and Parades. Not sure Ahmed will hit enough to stay up all year anyway if I do need him, I can always lift it.
