The player can be bought out to open a roster spot, the reduced salary remains on the team’s books Sorry, I misread this and thought he retired THIS offseason. Allen retired in Feb 2021 and was rostered for the 2021 season, so per the following he can be dropped for 2022: 1) if the player officially retires during the contract, you can drop him after he completes the season (if he retired during the season) or after the following season (if he retired during the offseason). |
