OF - Jimmy Parades OF - Khris Davis RP - Tony Watson RP - Sean Kelly
I have Hamilton, cuddyer, reddick at OF with Venable and Nix as backups and Davis qualifies there as well so dont need davis (who made MLB roster) or Pardes (if he gets called up).
Have 7 RP positions so using redshirt on Watson/kelly to save a year.
If Arrsdama doesnt get picked up by different team on waivers (which he should) or Price/Bryson dont get a call up (which one should)... I may pull redshirt on one (watson/kelly) to get an extra bench player but would like to redshirt both for now.
But I do have all RP filled. Perez, Putz, Duensing, Wright, Salas. That does leave with no bench depending or Aardsma situation, but that will play out soon and I will be on top of it.

You may only have two players in their second year or later.

New GMs that have taken over their teams since the start of the regular season now have the option to redshirt players retroactively. They must demonstrate that they have sufficient coverage at the position(s) of the player being redshirted. If a new GM would like to redshirt players, he should post below prior to the trade deadline (end of July). Please see the guidelines at the beginning of this thread.
Please remember that all teams that have redshirted players will be checked periodically to make sure that they have active players at every position on the major league roster (players marked "DL" are acceptable IF the team doesn't have an available replacement, players marked "NA" are not), and failure to keep a full roster can result in redshirts being lifted.

Just to clarify, new GMs should post redshirts ASAP. The trade deadline was in case other new GMs join - GMs who join after the trade deadline won't have the option to redshirt players.
Chase d'Arnaud SS 2nd Year He's in the minors, but if he were in the majors I still would have Tejada @ SS plus Rodriguez who could cover SS.
Brent Morel 3B 2nd year He's also in the minors, but if he were playing I still would have Trumbo @ 3rd, as well as Dobbs and Rodriguez, not to mention Tejada is 3rd base eligible.

Remember, as you begin to compile and edit your 2014 rosters within your Clubhouse, that we need to keep track of Red Shirts.
As I'm to understand, a red-shirted player who completes a full season while shirted, shall have that year carried over should the player be traded. My point being, it's something that needs to marked on the Official Rosters.
So unless I'm wrong about this, here's how it's going to look.
for example.... in 2013, Logan Schafer (whom I red-shirted for 2013) appeared as so BN Logan Schafer 0.4 million (1st year) RS
in 2014, Logan Schafer (having been red-shirted in 2013) shall appear as so BN Logan Schafer 0.4 million (1st year) RS 2013
This means if I were to trade Schafer in the off-season, this tag " RS 2013 " shall accompany him. So when we all look at his actually history, his Red-Shirtedness is accounted for here minus one Season (one year) here on the site. Savvy?
Moral of the story...remember to mark your red-shirts. #scarlettletter

"in 2014, Logan Schafer (having been red-shirted in 2013) shall appear as so BN Logan Schafer 0.4 million (1st year) RS 2013"
my question is this: if you chose to list Logan with your minor league players instead of on your MLB roster can he selected by another team in Rule V despite the red shirt designation? I would not think so but I don't think it is stated anywhere one way or the other.....

No. If you redshirted him as a first year player, he stays a first year player, with all of the benefits that go with that title.

1) SS Alen Hanson (minors)
I've got Jose Reyes and Dean Anna to cover SS. I'm more than set at DH with Pujols and my OF rotation of Holliday, Myers, Gordon, Werth, and Ruggiano.
2) Cody Asche (2nd year)
I've got Josh Donaldson and Jeff Keppinger to cover 3B. As already stated my DH situation is more than covered.
3) SP Daniel Hudson (3rd year)
Red-shirted last year but didn't pitch in majors. Had 2nd TJ surgery, if he comes back at the end of this season I don't want him gaining service. I have Strasburg, Price, Minor, Cahill, Chatwood, Gonzalez, Beckett, Jordan, Detwiler, Rusin, Lewis, and possibly minor leaguers Nelson, deGrom, Karns, Nuno, Turley, Johnson, and Alvarez to cover my SP needs.
4) P Chris Stratton (minors)
I doubt he's going to reach the majors this year as he's only in A+ ball but if he ends up being a fast mover I don't want him gaining a year of service. As already demonstrated, my SP situation is covered.

Withdrawing my application on Cody Asche, he's been traded to the Rangers.

Also requesting redshirts for OF Joey Terdoslavich and OF Jimmy Pardes. While they may not get the PT, I want to make sure and I have 5 OF on my roster for 3 OF spots.
